we have a small wild population here in the marshes of the Elisabeth river I can usually "bust " a covey just walking about 1/4-1/2 mile from the house

I can join the club, bush-hogging for Pops in N georgia, kicked up several rabbits, a fawn and 2 bobwhites!

I was stoked, no net in sight to catch em

so I decided to build them brush piles with what I was chain-sawing out of the fence line, locust trees? spikey buggers.

well, I did that this morning and drove back on the 4wheeler this evening to show my wife, Jill, what I had done and we kicked up 2 bobwhites again and they flew straight to my brush piles. I was stoked. drove closer and could see a male and female and was able to tell Jill how to tell them apart.

That is good to hear that bobs are doing well down there. The population of wild quail (Valley and Mearns) has dropped so drastically here. Maybe one day all of us will be able to see a lot more of them.
