Although I haven't done pithing, I am pretty sure I would mess it up. I Had trouble with cutting the juggler on our first three meat birds. I just can't get in the correct position to do it correctly. We ended up using cones and a pair of tree loppers, which works best for us. I guess it boils down to not every one can successfully use all methods available. You just have to see what works best for you.
