so if you dont know cloud nine cochins is a buisness i plan to start after i move out of my parents house. my goal is to
sell to chicken enthusiasts and people who show at fairs, people who want high quality for less and i want to get more people interesested in this breed. but i want to offer more affordable prices to the average person so. another thing that will differ from the competition is my goal to have a wide variety of colors.


as of right now i only have these 2 buff cochins


first we have bertha my mom named her but the name fits so

and then we have sophia

now if you are wondering what color options i plan to have well i dont actually know but these are the colors i have on my list
first i will start with solid plumage the first one being buff

I want to make clear that I havent been studying genetics in poultry for very long so let me know if i make any mistakes with the genetic formulas

Gold base  +  Columbian  +  Diluters  −  Black modifiers

the quality of buff cochins I want

next up we have black cochins

and i believe this is genetic formula

Black=E/E  +  (Ml)  +  (Fm)  +  supporting melanizers

next is blue
Blue=E  +  Bl

Dominant White=I/i+  +  E/E  +  melanizers

or

Recessive White=c/c  +  (any base color underneath)

for chocolate im gonna use chocolate orpingtons for reference bc
choc largefowl cochins are not a recognised color and are rare

but you get the idea

cholate is a recessive sex linked trait

which means pullets only need one copy of the chocolate allele/gene

but cockerels need both copys to hatch out as cholate if only 1 copy is present males will be solid black

Chocolate=E/E  +  bc/bc  (males)orE/E  +  bc/−  (females)

next is lavender and ill try best to find lf cochin photos but i might have to use bantams for our reference here actually im going to use english orpingtons
