next up for my flock
Penny is my little diva. I honestly think she would’ve been the 11th chicken to die from coccidiosis if we hadn’t started treatment when we did — I wasn’t even sure it would work fast enough. But she fought like crazy and now she’s thriving.


She’s silly and full of bubbly energy, always getting herself into trouble exploring. Don’t blink near the coop door, because she will sneak through it if you’re not watching. She struts, hops, flaps, and demands a little admiration while grabbing treats. Total diva, total survivor, and I can’t help but love her for it.

she also lost her best friend bunny the splash cochin i loved her to. but im happy to have overcome my grief and feel bittersuite about my time with her. personally i think they were in love with each other

Hey YALL its been while since i wrote in her but i have so EXCITING NEWS

ive been working with my speckled sussex and i finally taught her how to jump into my lap on command so proud of her now she knows when i sit on the ground. IM SO PROUD OF HER

Rosalee is my Speckled Sussex and honestly she’s just the sweetest. She’s not bossy or loud at all, more like quietly curious. If I put something new in the run, she’ll wander over all slow, tilting her head like, “Hmm… what’s this?” She doesn’t rush in or freak out, just kind of politely checks it out.


The other girls can be dramatic, but Rosalee just does her own thing. Except… the second she hears me rustle treats? She zooms over like a little missile, totally forgets her calm vibe, all excited and flapping a bit. It’s adorable.


She’s also super pretty — those speckles really shine in the sun, even when she’s digging around in the dirt. Just a sweet, curious, happy little hen who makes me smile every day.
