Many of the traits that some breeds posses come from genetic mutations or deformities.
When something new pops up now, people look at it as a defect, but these defects can lead to new breeds if you can harness them.
Here is a list of a few of these deformities and mutations-
crests
feathered legs and vulture hocks
silkie feathering, frizzle feathering, naked necks
double spurs, no spurs, the direction the spur points
comb size and shape
claws on wings
extra legs
multiple feathering, henny feathering
beards, muffs, tufts
Show off your mutants!
Only one main rule! No fighting about the cruelty or how humane the mutation is. Only birds with NATURAL mutations and deformities. No human inflicted damage.
By studying these mutations people can learn even more about the birds genetics and discover where exactly these mutations are popping out from.
This is not meant to cause disputes, only show what can appear in our birds! This should be as educational as possible.
1-Entries must say what breed or cross the bird is (to the best of your knowledge)
2-The pictures must be of YOUR OWN BIRDS!
3-describe the mutation and how you discovered it.
