every night, it is the same thing. Fighting for just the right spot on the roost.

At least they USE the roost. Apparently mine can't find it in the dark. They always sleep in the nests

When my hens were younger and tried to use the nest boxes, I covered them up so they HAD to use the roosts.

This evening my little girl went out and sprinkled oatmeal on the driveway.

I asked her why she was doing that and she said, "Don't you thnk Santa's reindeer get hungry when they are flying all over the world?"

I smiled.

I'll head out in another half an hour an put the girls to be so that Santa can come. We've spoiled them with treats ALL day.. .Hopefully they'll sleep well.

The wind finally stopped blowing hard today, so I let my 27 pullets

out. They had all kinds of bread today and attention. I hope all living

things in this world could have a full belly and a smile! Merry Xmax
