What kind of bedding do you all use for your indoor ducks?
Right now I’m using puppy pads just until I get their new pen. I love it because it’s so easy to clean, but my poor ducklings are just sitting on their poop all night. So when they wake up in the morning they’re super dirty. It only bothers me because I feel bad that they wake up like this. What have you all used that helped keep your ducks clean.

Our "housebox" had washable puppy pads topped with a 2 inch layer of pine shavings. The depth made it easy to spot clean. The only thing I couldn't control was the water.mess, no matter how hard i tried to make the water only head accessible. They just knew how to make a mess. But, the washable pads were easy to remove and wash/dry. I never had poop seep onto them.

We had regular disposable puppy pads when they were smaller, but once they got to be about 3 weeks old, they started pulling at the pads and trying to eat the absorbant material.

I use straw and cover there poop with a new layer each morning, once its starts to stink i replace all the straw and start over.

i am using horse pine pellets for mine. I have spot scooped throughout the week and it hasn’t really had any smell to it until today where I noticed a very slight smell to it. I planned on doing a total cleaning tomorrow anyway. I have also some how managed to not end up with a totally soaked brooder every day. The bedding that has gotten wet has dried pretty fast so long as the pee pads under the pellets weren’t soaked.
