Bedding on top of EcoBrooder

Hi! I know I've read lots of people saying they cover their Brinsea EcoBrooder with shelf liner, which I did also. But I'm wondering if anyone ever puts bedding on top of it. I lay down paper towels because they poop all over it. I change the paper towels multiple times a day because I hate for them to lay all over the poop. And they lay on top a good bit, but all still go under at night. Seems like the bedding absorbs better and might help catch some of their mess and cut down on the constant changing of paper towels. any thoughts or anybody else do this?

I use a sheet of Glad Press-and-seal, and just leave it on, but you could change it whenever you wanted to.
