This is kind of a silly question, but I just wondered about it so bear with me and please no mean comments. Can hamster bedding, like the pretty multi-colored stuff from walmart, be used in nest boxes? I wouldn't use it all the time, just as a change of view every now and then. But I think on the package it says it can be used for parakeets, parrots, etc. so why not chickens? Like I said, silly question, but I'm just curious!

It can, but I assume being that it is paper it will stick to the eggs. There's also the potential problem of them eating it, if you can even manage to keep it in the nest boxes.

No reason not to if it makes you happy. It will be for your enjoyment rather than theirs.
You may find it is more easily kicked out of the nest than heavier nest materiel and depending on the number of nests could become costly even used only occasionally as thinks marketed for "pets" have ridiculous markups on them

Thanks for your answers. I think I'll get a tiny package just to try it and see what happens lol and maybe I'll report my findings
