Bedding question

I am going to get my first set of meat birds at the end of March. For my brooder I have seen lots of places mention using Peat Moss as a bedding. Is this the standard garden variety Peat Moss? Also is there any downside of using Peat moss.

I have never heard of peat moss. You should you use pine shavings. I think the peat will be to dust and will not supress the smell.

I have no idea how effective peat moss will be as a bedding material, but I do know you will pay way way way more for it than for pine shavings.

I too am a pine shavings fan. It smells nice and helps with those odors......It's pretty economical. Never heard of peat moss....sorry!

Wood pellets or woody pet is great... can do a search here for what others have said about it...I won't use anything else.
