Hey all,
I know pine is the preferred wood but is fir shavings ok for a coop? My husband has a bunch of untreated fir that he can plane. Our chicks are 6 weeks and are about ready to be out of the brooder.

Think it should be ok as long as it's not sappy or noticeably aromatic. I have fir in my mix but I doubt I could identify it from other woods.
