Hi! We have some extra seeding hay for planting, could we use that for chicken/duck bedding? It seems like just normal hay but I want to make sure that that's ok to do, thanks!

we just got it from the farm store for when we planted grass. I don't know the technical term but its just for planting grass. We use hay as our bedding that we get from the farm store as well. (it's for animals) and we haven't had any issues with mold. What is "seeding hay"?
Hay can get packed and moldy and nasty if used in any great quantity on it's own,
especially if it's in a damp/wet area.
It's fine to mix in, with moderation, with other coarser materials(like large woods chips).
It's probably straw not hay.we just got it from the farm store for when we planted grass. I don't know the technical term but its just for planting grass. We use hay as our bedding that we get from the farm store as well. (it's for animals) and we haven't had any issues with mold.
