I was told it was OK to use cedar wood chips for my poults they are about 3 weeks old has anyone else used this would you consider it safe? Thanks.

stay away from cedar, aspen too. the oil from the cedar can hurt your chickens and the dust from aspen can too. I made the mistake with the aspen bedding bad very bad. Pine seems to be the best.

The oil will irritate the skin. We use pine shavings for the first couple weeks and then switch to sand for the brooders. The sand is easy to clean and you don't have to change it as often.
