Between leaving for work in the dark and having to cook dinner immediately when I got home I haven't seen my flock in the daylight today. So I took some bedtime pictures while I was closing them up.

About 1/3 of the babies have decided to sleep on top of the playpen near the lower-status POLs (and Ludwig, the 5-month-old cockerel).

I'm afraid that the other babies are going to get pooped on, but I can't do anything about that tonight.

And the adults. Popcorn, the SLW on the left end, continues to try to sleep in the nests and I continue to put her on the roost.

Dumpling, the Brahma at the right, used to be her floor-sleeping companion in the old coop, but had adopted the roost as long as she can get the position right next to the ramp.

They are beautiful! We have had dark mornings, but tonight at 2am the clocks go back (I think 🤔) so hopefully light mornings again.

I am in the UK, so it is definitely tonight, I’m convinced they they go backwards…but I could be wrong 🤣 definitely tonight in the uk.
That's so interesting! My apologies <3 I mistook you for Mrs. K. I'm pretty sure she's in the US. I never keep up with the day so I always have to check or hope I hear it from someone else 😉 Thank you for the reminder that's it's coming soon 💜

Easy mistake Mrs K, Mrs J 😊…has the same ring 🙂 I don’t normally keep up myself, I think it has stuck in my mind because tomorrow is Halloween and Micheal Myers frightens the life outta me..I actually have a phobia! 🤣
