Bedtime rituals of the chicken kind

And like people... all chickens are not created equally. You have some pretty wise birds... and those that are not so smart. You'll figure out all their little attitudes over time the longer you have them- but what you are seeing is totally normal and the older they get you will see them start vying for position in the pecking order.

Interesting notes, thanks, I have lots to learn my flock has 3 hens, a Barred Rock about 4 years old 2 SLW's 4 or so months old. I have them seperated, the older in a
small coop with a 25 ft run, the twp SLW Pullets are growing out of a smaller coop. looks like a need a bigger coop for all. The how to introduce them?

Saw the funniest thing on FaceBook earlier. A terrier type dog was trying to hold off a White Leghorn Roo, funny. My Grandfather (when I was a kid) owned a large flock of Leghorns...maybe several hundred...he was the egg
producer for a grocery store in town. Back then it was all manual labor. Now here I am years later, trying to get in the chicken business!
