We have a hive of bees that have taken up residence behind our barn in an upside down solar water tank. They get in and out through a crack or hole in one corner. They've been living there for two or three years. We are happy to have them and leave them alone.

My questions:

1) If we could afford to bring in a hive or two is there a way to relocate them to a 'real' bee hive?

2) Are they making honey where they are now? Could that honey be harvested by someone who knows how?

Yes you can move them to a hive, matter of fact they have swarm every year they have been there. watch for the new swarm soon, catch it. then move the old hive. yes they have made honey.

After moving the bees, you will need to feed them. Yes you can remove the honey
