Question for the hive mind
big_smile.png
We get a 1/2 organic grass feed cow every year and it comes with the soup bones if I want them too. I just found about 6 packages of them in my freezer from last year. So I threw them in a roaster with some water and cooked them up. I gave the girlies some of them today and the loved them.

My question is do they need to be cooked?? I ended up with some great beef broth from it so I don't have a problem cooking them up but what do you do??

Thanks so much, Tracy in WA

If the object is just to feed them to the birds then you don't have to cook them.

But if it were me I'd at least get some broth from them before tossing them out.

I feed my dogs raw beef bones in the yard as a treat. My chickens will chase away my dogs to pick the bones clean. No problems so far. However it does disturb me...
