Been a long time!

Just stopping in to say hello. It's been awhile, I haven't owned chickens for years now. We moved to Florida about 5 years ago. Yesterday, we decided to do chickens again. Hubby will be working on a critter proof pen. We have a lot more predators here than we did years ago in Missouri. We grabbed some chicks from a farm supply store, Cream Legbars, California Gray and a couple of Black sex-links. I really wanted Barred Rocks - my fave, but can't find them anywhere. Anyways, wanted to say hi again, I remember this forum from so long ago and so many great people here! Brooder is in my sort of photo studio shed, soooo will be getting lots of pics lol

Welcome back! I know you will enjoy your new flock. I hear that a lot of the more popular breeds are in short supply at the hatcheries this year. I love legbars. Next to bantam cochins, I think they are the friendliest breed that I've kept.

Hiya, and welcome back!

Just in case you or hubby hasn't heard about it, for fixing up your pen and coop, chicken wire isn't good to use as too many things get through that. 1/2" hardware cloth is the standard most of us use, and albeit a bear or one cyborg raccoon I heard supposedly did, nothing gets through that.
