I live in NorCal and have had chickens for about 7 years. Currently, I only have 3 hens and 1 rooster.
I live off-grid. Have lost chickens to bears, bobcats, and coyotes. My flock is always changing.
Because my chickens are about 6 years old, I am starting a new family of 6 mixed breeds. They are 2 days old.
Very exciting!! 2 New Hampshire Reds, 2 Barred Rock, 1 Ameraucana, and 1Black Australop. I hope they are all
female. My rooster is beautiful, a black australop, but crows for hours at a time. He's very sweet too.
