my name is Jim and I live in western NY. Please don’t hold that against me... I recently jumped into raising chickens and have been coming here for ideas and info. I’m lucky enough to have a great resource in my mother-in-law but have gotten a lot of great info here. About my flock; I have 8 Rhodies, 8 barred rocks and 7 Australorps. I received them as pullets after my MIL raised them from chicks for me. (she kept the 8th Australorp as payment) There are 21 hens and 2 roosters. we’re raising them as pets and for eggs. I’ve always wanted chicken since I was young and finally we have them and I’m hooked...
