Been lurking for quite some time

Hi!! I've been lurking around reading posts for several years off and on, and finally decided to join.
I live in WNC with my husband and 4 of our six children. We have about 25 chickens, 8-3 day old chicks, and 14 more in the bator. We haven't ever killed a chicken yet, but the time has come, says husband. No more letting them just die of old age, it's time for stew!
