Bees!!!!

How have your chickens been reacting to them, do they even notice the bees? I've wondered since there are beekeepers in the area and I owrry about my chickens about everything. I assume they would not even mind based on the way my chickens ignore the things I care about and react to things I don't think about normally.

They are ignoring them, the guineas aren't even paying attention to the bees. Though it does seem like the ducks and geese avoid the biggest (red) feeder, the one with the most bee activity.

I have honey bees in my layer crumbles too. Been there the last 2 days. Mine *may* have gotten wet. I'll try putting out fresh and see if I still get the bees.

We have DANDELIONS!!

I have had the same problem. The bees arrive around 10 in the morning and leave around 5pm. They are all over the chicken feed. The girls don't seem to mind but it's alot of honey bees. We've started taking the feed in when the first bee is sighted. Someone in our area has hives but we can't find them. I'll give the sugar water a try. You can't go out in the pens during the day if we leave the feed out.

Not so worried about my chickens but my bassett hounds swell up when they get stung!

Aaakkk!
