PLEASE. Leave it for others, who may have similar questions. That's how BYC grows its knowledgebase.

Heck, I have an entire thread of me making mistakes so others don't have to. Its very popular. Occasionally informative.

Do you mean you want to leave the site?

You can go into your account settings, turn off all the kinds of notifications, and never come back. That would not delete your profile or posts, but it would make sure the site doesn't keep sending you messages.

If you want your whole profile deleted, or an entire thread deleted, you might ask a mod. You can send them a message, or click "report" on one of your own posts and type an explanation in the box that pops up. (I'm not a mod, so I do not know when they are willing to delete things and when not. I just know they are able to, and reporting a post is an easy way to ask them.)

I agree with @U_Stormcrow that it's nice to leave threads like this available for other people to read. I have learned a lot from reading old threads as well as new ones.
