Yyyyaaaayyy!!!So first the coop then the chicks.
Can depend on how easy it is to get into your coop for observing their first days eating/drinking/pooping/etc.I didn't see much different in raising them in the basement or in the coop.

I disagree, there is no reason to not keep them out in the coop. 50' is not too far to go out and check on them. I have never brooded indoors, always in the coop.In that case I'd keep them in the basement for the first few days maybe a week
I would raise them indoors till the coop comes then put them outCassandra, they will be day old chicks. I am late getting started. So first the coop then the chicks. I didn't see much different in raising them in the basement or in the coop.
