Begging session with DH

I used to tell my husband I was trading eggs to hatch. I'd get a box every other day and he'd keep making what I needed.

I'm sure he's looking down at me now saying "I knew what you were doing. Dr said I was crazy, not stupid!"

That was his line.

My Sportsman broke down the day he died. Was completely full. Lost so many eggs. Guess he had the last word. LOL

So long as you are the one that has to do all the work then you should just go get them if you want them if it won't cause a financial hardship for your family.

If he's got to backstop you often though then he should have a say in whether you get them.

I don't ask my wife if I can get more birds, but then she's not the one who has to spend the time and effort taking care of them.

What about taking him with you to get them? Would he be able to resist the fluffy cuteness? You may end up with even more than you originally intended!!

Haha, no, he is immune to fluffy cuteness of all types. He did however, agree to the new additions. There are now three little fluffy EE pullets in my brooder! Yay!! That brings the total up to 14 chickens!! A modest start, but this is only year two of the chicken project.

He does help out a lot with the chickens, so I felt compelled to check in. It's probably for the best that he censors my critter collecting as we would have a small scale zoo if he didn't.

wait wait wait right there....

what's wrong with a small scale zoo???????

i am just joshin'. I have asked my dh to monitor my animal instincts more than once, so that i dont out sell the farm so to speak. Besides, it makes them feel like they actually have a say so on things.

i just bring home the chicks, and tell him they are staying in the house with us until a coop get built, enlarged, etc. that works actually. He is good to me. If he knows it means that much to me, he grumbles at first, but comes around.

We are all lucky to have our supporting spouses.
