Hi, I am new at this. I am on day 18, and started lockdown this morning.
I have a homade styrofoam incubator.
I am having trouble keep humidity up past 50%
I filled the bottom so full with water that it ended up soaking into the cloth the eggs were set on up above. I panicked and pulled the eggs out, dried the area and lined it with dry cloth and set eggs back in same position. I need to mention that I have a system set up that acts like a IV, so it's hard to gauge how full the bottom is.
Should I cover some vent holes?
I don't want to open the lid again, however I am thinking I should add a sponge? I do already have a wide container filler with water in addition to the water I mentioned that I overfilled!
This is crazy, I live in a really humid area and I can't seem to get enough humidity!

Yep, add a sponge (or two) and see where that gets you. Even a wet towel would work. Anything that enlarges the wet surface area and will increase evaporation should raise the humidity level.
