beginner question!

The tan could be a buff-pekin mix. Looks like you have a Swedish mix in there, too. Do anconas get green feathers? I did not think so. I think there was some mixing going on in their parents' flock

I think they are gorgeous! I say Pekin x Rouen or Khaki Campbell. Here this guy hatched, he is Pekin x KC, his head is sort of green sometimes, and he has wing bars. Another mix I had hatch was perfectly black with a white bib, like a big Sweedish. I gave her away and I miss her, she was the best. I guess you're looking at at least 2nd, 3rd or 4th Generation mixes. Love them.

Ok. Thanks for the help. I think they're gorgeous! And truely like them better than my chickens! Sounds like I need to do my homework n see what the breeds ya'll mentioned look like n are good for. Meat n eggs I hope!! They are wonderful tattle tale watch dogs. They raise kain when ppl drive up or. Or A dog other than my 3 shows up.

Wonderful!! Another question: somebody told me ducks would only mate in pairs. Is this true? Or will one drake service several hens?

Here the drakes get their favorites, but a good rule of thumb is *at least* 3 ducks per drakes. Drakes are busy busy busy.

They all started laying about 3wks ago! At 6 months old. Late bloomers I guess. Lol. About that time they all finally decided that the pond was to swim in, not walk around.
