Hi everyone! I'm new here btw lol :P But we are going to get 2 baby ducks in 1-2 weeks. (Is 2 ok or should we get 3-4?) I easier 14 baby chickens 2 years ago and they are with my uncle now. So are ducks basically the same as chicks, raising wise? What breed would be the best for me to get, since this will be my first time raising ducks. I wanted the ducks to be nice when they got older too. Thank you :)

Ok, I'll look at them :) When do they start flying? My parents would get mad if they flew out of their brooder in the house lol

Well they fly as adults no ducklings can fly

Id recommend reading storey's guide to raising ducks

Alright I will :p And what are all the differences between raising ducks and chicks? Are ducks harder to raise?

Ducks take work. They need different food since chicken feed isn't nutrish enough for them expecially the start and grow when they are little you either have to order froma specific bran of duckling start and grow or get normal start and grow and add stuff to it.

again the book explains this all and its very cheap usually.

Would this feed be good? The reviews people put said their ducks loved it and it was great feed.

I haven't read through that. I'll read it now. And if I put the ducks when they are adults in the back yard, would they fly away do you think? Or stick around if I fed them some. Also if I keep handling them a lot as ducklings, when they are adults will they let me handle them? Thanks everyone for the replies so far :)
