Beginning to Squat

We got our first egg! No squatting to be seen yet.

Ok, everyone kept telling me that I would know "the squat" when I saw it. I reached out to one of my EE's today and she squatted down, her back went flat and her wings were bent open a bit! Woo hoo.
I did know it when I saw it. My 7 girls are 26 weeks old and Im still waiting.

My EE squared for the first time last Saturday. On Monday this picture was sent to me with her first egg. She has given us three eggs this week!

In 5 days I've gotten 3 eggs from the same girl ( I think) the color of each has been a little different. Still no squating. Any one know if the same chicken's egg can very in color a little?

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but what has them squatting when I touch or try to pick them up got to do with them laying their first egg? And mine still squat even though they've been laying a few months now.

I don't know for sure but I think it's natural submission. They squat when approached to let the rooster fertilize the eggs
