Behavior before going broody

My last hen to go broody was/is one of my most calm sweet birds. Just before she went broody for about a week-two weeks I noticed her getting more and more aggressive towards the rest of the flock. Then I seen her sitting and her feathers were starting to puff up when anything disturbed her. Is this your first broody? What kind of hen? And what are you noticing?

As the point of broodiness approaches, they begin to fluff up and sometimes even cluck. When free-ranged, the range tightens up on last day or so. Once broodiness begins, I can identify them as such even away from nest by their tendency to avoid balance of flock.

I have a silkie and I am dying for her to go broody. I just wanted to know what to watch out for when she (hopefully) goes broody. She is 9 months old and has been laying for over a month (maybe 2). They say a watched pot never boils.....maybe a watched silkie never goes broody
