Let me preface by saying that I'm new to having chickens. Today I was spending time with the girls in their run when they all suddenly stood perfectly still for about 60 seconds and then very calmly all went into the coop. I have seen them get spooked and run inside, but this was like they all suddenly decided to have a meeting. Did something spook them that I didn't see or hear? I don't have a rooster, but I suppose a neighbor's roo could have sounded an alarm.

How they react to a predator depends on what it is. Sometimes they run, sometimes they freeze as to not draw attention to themselves.
