Do ducks still lay for a while after going broody? My Pekin has been spending most of her time on the nest for the past 4 or 5 days but I still get 4 eggs a day. (I have 4 hens, and 4 immature ducks that I am not sure about sex, and all the eggs are normal size, not poulet size) And my second question is what is the best way to figure out if she really is setting? Should I put her in a brooder area? I have eggs in our incubator because I didn't think any of our chickens or ducks would set. Can I put some of those eggs under her or give her new ones?

Mine will still lay for about a week after they go broody, but that is with me collecting the eggs.

Yes, I collect the eggs every day, and I have several chicken hens that lay in that particular nest too, so I know she is getting up to let them lay, or take breaks. But the only other time she gets up is if the drakes chase her out...she is their favorite amor.
