I was given information on someone wanting to give me their entire flock of 8 hens and 1 rooster. They said they are mixed rare breeds. I can tell the one hen in the photo is a polish but no clue on anything else. Any guess would be awesome

No. They are in bad condition and are not rare. That’s a no. They are just mutts.

If they know enough to tell you they are rare breeds, they should be able to tell you what breeds they have. Lol. If you let us know what they say they are, we can tell you if it looks to be true!
That's the thing he won't tell me.. said he doesn't know. The photos to me don't look anything rare. The only one I'm even slightly interested in would be the polish hen.

Yes, they are not rare and are in quite bad condition. Look like White Leghorn X's, a Brown Leghorn, possibly a Black Australorp, a production red and a polish. A LOT of over mating happening there.
Yea I noticed the overbreeding in the photos. Heck even the rooster is missing feathers on his neck.

I figured they weren't rare...but was hoping maybe I was wrong lol

I've gotten 4 hens from someone before who were overbred WAY worse than those. I put them with my juveniles and they lay my biggest eggs. Just hoping those girls heal up over time.
