Do you have to have the actual NPIP certification to ship or just the pullorum testing & the like (sorry, some of my keys aren't working)

It depends on the state you are shipping into, really. Some states require NPIP plus a permit from the state in addition to that. Some require a vet's certificate of health, I believe.

I have no plans to ever be NPIP because it's a USDA program.

I've been checking on getting mine tested even if I don't certify for NPIP.

Some folks who are NPIP have bought birds from me and had them tested with their own flocks, though technically, they weren't supposed to do so, including some who also paid extra to be tested for Mycoplasmosis every quarter. Mine always tested negative in their flock. That's good enough for me. I won't be involved with the USDA in any way if I can help it.

Mine tested fine on Pullorum this weekend at the swap so I'm fine there. Maybe your friend can ship for you under their NPIP...LOL

Nope, she lives a ways from me, first of all. Secondly, I can't put a bird in a box and give it to the Post Office. Just can't do it.

I haven't tried shipping yet either. I try to drive to get mine when possible or use the "egg/bird train" on here to network transportation for my birds.

I also have added four Mille Fleur D'Anver chicks to the original post. They are 6 weeks old now and with their co-broody mamas, but if someone wants all four of the older ones, plus the four young ones, they can go as a package deal.
