Belgian d'Uccle chicks 1 to 3 weeks old

I am a BYC newbie of 3 or 4 days and found you when searching Belgian d'Uccle Mille Fleur. You seem just the person to help my family! First: please share the correct pronunciation of this breed! I have heard the d'Uccle and the Mille pronounced various ways and I am one of those who hates to go around mispronouncing words!! Also: my 15 year old daughter wants to start her own flock of chickens and this is her breed of choice. I have an awesome Sportsman incubator so have the ability to hatch eggs. Or we could purchase chicks if you have any available AND if it ever ceases to be hellaciously HOT here! (projected a nearly unheard of 111 today) Anyway, your photos are beautiful and any contributions you could make to the above questions would be greatly appreciated!!

this isn't my thread but I keep reading d'uccle is pronounced do clay. i have a hard time calling them that tho b/c I had always called them d'uccle like it's spelled and I kinda like it, lol! Michele has lovely birds, I have a couple and they have awesome foot feathers! My avatar is one of her girls, I got as a chick. Only 3 months old now. I liked the color, also have a mille and a blue mottled roo. Good luck with your flock :)

I have a buff mottled hen. Would love to have blue mottled! She hatched 13 of the 15 eggs (all hers!) two weeks ago!! We lost 3 chicks but she has finally adopted 4 Sebright chicks I purchased that are the same age as hers. I ordered some blue ones this year but they didn't have any more when it came time to ship. They told me that color just didn't produce as well as the others to get the eggs.

I have one blue mottled hen under my black mottled roo. I now have a blue mottled roo, and hoping to get a few more hens.

I am interested in some hens and was wondering if you would be willing to sell one or two hens or pullets that are from you show stock? i have also pm you about it thank you
