Is there anyone in Belleville Il. trying to change their ordinance, I would like to get on the bandwagon.

there was an article in the local newspaper (The Belleville News Democrat) today about making it legal to have three hens in city limits, it didn't sound too promising. The Mayor said they already have enough trouble with nuisance dog complaints, I don't think you can compare the two.

I myself am from Belleville i live outside O'fallon IL now. I believe Belleville will be passing the law it is becoming more of a welcomed idea

I read a few months ago in the news that Belleville had passed an ordinance allowing residence in single family dwellings to raise three hens. One of my coworkers checked with the city, though, and they told him that it still hadn't passed.

If they do enact this ordinance, then two or more families will have to go together to buy chicks because the state does not allow anyone to buy less than six.

How are they enforcing the rules for not buying less than six at a time? I know people have been able to purchase just three at rural king without a problem.
