Hi! I'm a Washington State native and a first time home owner getting my little farm started! I grew up in Eastern Washington, raising chickens for 4-H, and surrounded by my neighbors cows and sheep and goats. Now I live in Western Washington and am learning what it's like to get that farm feel up here. My girls (and one rooster) are about 14 weeks old right now. We have three buffs, and six wyandottes. I have to admit, my buffs are my favorite, they're just so sweet and gentle.
I'm a huge fan of the organic living lifestyle, so we raise the girls free-range. The more bugs and weeds they eat for me, the better for the both of us. I haven't tried yet, but I do plan on raising some chicks from eggs, so that'll be another post full of adventures.
