Belt Hatchery Cornish Cross

Those are very healthy looking birds.. Their plumage looks great.

My cousin whose kids (located in Shiner Tx) regularly win 4h meat division and commercial raises Cornish x on pasture tractor style.

They recommended higher protein levels the first few weeks which your likely getting from fermenting.

The other was to vist them as much as possible.. It was to keep them active but without putting them in larger open spaces that cuts into their growth and toughens the meat.

Its what caused me to make my tractor tall with a door vs 3' flip top

Those birds really do look great!

Many thanks! To be honest this thing is a beast to turn. I’m not too happy with it in that regard and looking back I should have made it smaller. I’m likely going to turn it into my egg layer coop and build out another pvc tractor. We have a pvc one that’s 10x10x2’ that I prefer. It’s much easier to move and turn. On our 2 acres I have to turn my coop every 5-7 days and it just doesn’t want to turn. I think it’s 8x14. I’ll likely build 2-3 more pvc coops. Light and easy to move for myself and my wife if she has to.

I understand.. Could you add a eye bolt to both corners on one side.. Hook rope or clip a chain to them and use a garden tractor to slowly turn it?

Does the coop have wheels?

Smaller and lighter will certainly make it easier by hand.

I can see some nice crosses in that group to make a good hybrid meat bird offspring.. Even a 4 way. If you have the roosters of course.
