bent legs

help, have a day old chick with 2 bent legs. He/she can not walk and we are feeding by hand as chick is unable to use legs at all or stand upright. Could i put splints on would this help its brothers and sisters want to attack him/her so its kept seperate at the moment. any help greatfully recivied.

hi, I'm sorry to hear about your little chick. I had a little chick who couldn't stand, it would drag both legs behind it and crawl like a seal. I ha d very good luck putting bandaid splints on the chick, it took about a week before i removed the splints but the chick walks fine several months later. just noticed baby chick has legs bent back from joint in leg so unable to splint as it wont be able to sit down,,,,,, an hope?

Is it dislocation? Does the joint move normally? If so you can use the splint during the day and take it off at night.
