She is maybe 1 1/2 weeks old and much smaller than the other girls. She and 9 others came from Hoover Hatchery via our local hardware store. She seems active but does spend more time under the brooder. I think she is drinking and eating, but I have not paid as close attention. This is day 2 with us. Is there anything special I need to do to help insure her good health?

Sounds like you are already doing everything right. Some chicks are just smaller then others. If she is still active, I think she is doing fine. You could dip her beak into the water and feed if you are concerned that she is not eating or drinking. I do that when I first put the chicks in the brooder, but I only have to do it once.
