Will be building a cattle panel chicken tractor, I think you guys call them hoop coops? Going to be using it for meat birds maybe turkeys later in the year. Pretty basic design, 3×4 landscape timber base, panel top scavanged 2x4 fencing sides, 1/2" hardware around at least 4' up.
But I've got limited actual flat ground, most is sloped half brush, lots of ruts and divets. And a known weasel problem. Some fox, and coyotes but I am familiar with keeping those out. I do like the hinged wire apron but I dont know how well it'd work on this terrain. Would need to string trim a path for each move.
My first thought was rolled doubled up chicken wire stappled at the base. Should spring open enough to cover gaps and my thought is something tries digging through it they just unroll it further. Maybe a combo of both?
