I’m considering switching my flock to all bantams, but I do appreciate the eggs I get from the bigger girls.

In your experience, which bantams are the best layers?

I have some bantam welsummers in the incubator and would love to know more egg laying bantam options...

My satin is a surprisingly regular layer (4-5 eggs a week) if only she didn’t go broody so often 😂

Bantam Welsummers! How cool!
I find that d’Anvers are very consistent and constant layers, even if the eggs are quite small.
Broodiness depends upon the bird. Most of my yearling hens have never gone broody, but my older hens have.

I had some silver penciled Plymouth rocks that laid like crazy and for their size they were huge eggs.
They tried going broody often also so you couldn't let eggs add up in nest boxes.
