Best breed for egg laying?

Hi guys. I am interested in getting hatching eggs to put under my broody hen and i was wondering which breed is actually really good for laying many eggs and frequently as well.

Leghorns and Black Australorps probably lay the greatest number. At one point, a BA hen held the world's record. But many other breeds are good layers. In the end, laying is an individual thing. It's also somewhat dependent on the egg source you use. A good breeder may not be breeding for laying in the year you purchase his eggs, for example. Hatcheries generally breed or select stock for laying.
