I live in Georgia and our summers are as hot and humid or hotter than yours (no sea breeze). I have Runners, Saxony, mini ducks, hookbills and geese. Just make sure they have a pool, and Storeys guide to Ducks , says they must have Deep shade. Mine literally don't come out from under the pine trees until evening or if it's cloudy.. If they come out in the full sun,it isn't for long. Also keep the pool in the shade.... and they should be fine.....
