Not sure where I can ask this but here goes. Dont want to get kicked off here. If feed store birds are not the best birds then where can you go to get some of the best? I am wanting some light brahmas. And some light wyandots. Please help if you can.

No worries, you won't get kicked off for questions like that! You might have better luck asking for recommendations in the Chicken Breeders and Hatcheries forum. You can also look up the breed club website for the breeds you're interested in and see if they have a breeder directory. That's what I did when I was looking for a breeder to get back into Buckeyes. It took about a month and a half, but I found about a half a dozen leads and was able to pick up hatching eggs a few weeks ago.

"Best" is super subjective and really depends on your personal goals. If you just want chickens for eggs, as pets, and don't want to show them then there's not really anything wrong with feed store chicks. If you're looking to breed to the standard of perfection, for meat, or show then yeah, feed store stock is going to fall short.

Do you mean Columbian Wyandottes?
To get the best birds you have to look around for local breeders. The best birds aren't to be found by major businesses, same as chef-made food isn't to be found at a chain restaurant.
You want to look for people who would tell you their birds are Standard-bred. For that, I'd need to know what state you are in and relevant information like that. In my experience, breed club Facebook pages are where you are most likely to find breeders near you.

Maybe I can just use the feed store ones then and just breed my own up. I just wanted to get some nice looking birds. Thanks guys
