Best Broody Breeds

Are there any breeds that tend to be more broody than others? What age do they go broody??

Silkies tend to go broody soon after beginning to lay but so far mine have NOT!

I'm anxiously awaiting! They did just start to lay not long ago...just a few weeks now.

They are also suppose to be VERY good mothers too

I have an Old English game hen and she is very broody! I just stuck about 12 eggs under her!

My interest is in heavies so......

Not from experience but from asking around and reading a lot....

Orpingtons (and their derivatives ie Australorps), and Jersey Giants can be Very broody and are considered to be very devoted and protective mothers.
