Best Buds (pic overload)

I miss having a puppy LOL but at the same time, I don’t and I am glad Brew is 5 now and chill lmaooooo except with other dogs. He and his new best friend play constantly 🤣 in between naps. But she is also only a year old or maybe just under it so still very energetic so I’m sure she prompts him into play too. LOL but anyways, I’m glad Brew is older and calmer now. I used to be able to walk him morning and evening and then go to Club all day and he was 100% fine and slept all day unless my dad or stepmom let him out on nice days for 1-2 or 3 hours depending. Not even long walks either. Sometimes they would be but not every time. Only time he would get into trouble is if I didn’t walk him before I left. And even then, he never destroys anything like shoes, etc.. Just pulls out a singular paper plate and licks it clean LOL like “Mom, you left and I got bored and also am mad you didn’t walk me” LOL but he was HELL as a puppy/adolescent. He wasn’t even really a bad dog, he actually was quite good, never ate anything he shouldn’t or had accidents or anything like that, but he was SO energetic and high drive. Like EXTREMELY LOL LUCKILY! We had several dog friends at the time and they would come to the house or we would go their house (back when I drove) and they would just play for hours sometimes! LOL or at least an hour usually. And most of it was RUNNING! Especially at the house we sold. There was a giant “bowl” shape in the yard and then a large hill above that and also lots of woods so they would often zoom around and around the “bowl” or go up the huge hill and then back down into the bowl or into the woods and back out (I was watching them) or whatever. And then at the house we moved into, it was fenced at the time so they used to have lots of fun tearing around in there too without worry. At the time he wasn’t fixed yet so I used to worry he or his friends would get loose. So the fence was nice. Now he’s older and neutered 3 years ago so I don’t worry as much now LOL he’s a good boy. But he also really doesn’t have any friends anymore. Poor guy LOL at least none that come over. But now he has a new best friend in his current home but still. We also used to hike CONSTANTLY when I could drive in various terrain and he would play with as many dogs on the trail as he could (would catch him if they didn’t want him approaching) so that was A LOT of running too. And we would usually hike for at least a couple hours. Sometimes if it was a particularly dog friendly area or like a dog park type of place (but not an actual dog park), I would stay and let him play a while. Wore him right out. LOL I didn’t take him to actual dog parks but there’s a very large field near my dad’s house and at the end is a very small beach that’s mostly considered a “dog beach” so we would stop there a few times. There were also more wooded trails. Anyways, we hiked a LOT. LOL we used to do 2 mile leash walks too. Or long line walks. Eventually e collar. He needed those LONG walks or those runs (hikes). In addition to that, we also played with the flirt pole and bite rag, fetch, I used to train a lot of tricks, etc. etc. and he was still crazy LOL he calmed down a lot with age and neutering. But I used to think maybe he was part Malinois before I did the DNA tests. :lau I also thought pointer or like GSP cause he pointed one time LOL but perfect point. Then I thought maybe husky or hound with his nighttime vocals during crate training LOL I was right about one thing… the hound part. :lau but yeah. He’s sooooooo much calmer now. I don’t think I could handle another puppy Brew LOL he was SO cute but SO much work. And I cried several times. I had the puppy blues BAD! LOL BUT! I got over it and did what I had to do for him and now I am GLAD that I did because he is an AMAZING dog now. He always was but now he listens to me and he’s not crazy LOL
