Is there a particular breed of rabbit that does well cohabitating w/ chickens? Obviously will have it's own hutch and/or burrow, but shared enclosure. We've previously had a Holland Lop, and we loved her, but not sure if she'd have been "hearty" enough to stay outside and hang w/ the ladies!

Thanks!
Jessie

a holland lop are very sweet rabbits especialy the females, long s you have a secure pen were she could not dig out should be fine.. i had a mini rex male bunny in with my chickens for a year and he did very well with them. but he waz a eascape artist and got out every time i would turn my back.the last time he got out the dog attacked and killed him

well i dont know what breeds are better than others but right now i have a roo and a buff that share a run with my two ducks and next door is another run with a connecting fence to allow everyone to see each other and in that run are my two rabbits one is a lop/dwarf netherland cross and the other is a something or other - they are all doing fine and the rabbits live outside in a kinda " free range " feeling they have plenty of tall grass and weeds to play in and i got a couple of air conditon tubes from lowes and have them laying in the run as fun tunnels for the girls - i think i am going to cut a hole in the fence and put the end of one of the tunnels so the rabbits can go visit the chickens and ducks but i will be able to close it off when i open the door so the ducks/chickens can free range without rabbits taking off.

The tubes to play w/ and in are a great idea!

I loved our little bunny b/c she was so sweet and would sit in our laps and let us hold her, many do not. Maybe we'll stick w/ Holland Lops if they do well w/ chicks afterall.

Thanks!
