Best chicken for hot Texas?

All of my chickens made it through 116 one day last summer.

I can see that my leghorns and EEs look to be the hardiest for heat!

Brown Leghorns hands down for laying. They are very seldom broody, very active and their coloring does not call attention to them like the lighter colored hens. They lay a beautiful white egg. We live in N. Central texas with the climate you are talking about. The black australorp is a wonderful layer much more gentle but they do range well. Suprisingly we have never had problems with the heat. The leghorn would not be so good for meat.
We also have buff orpingtons, but they are one of the first to be gobbled up by predators. We have just gotten a couple of spotted sussex I think they may do well as far as predators are concerned and will be good for meat as well as for setting. I don't know how well they lay.
