Best chicken to eat...

I don’t think Cornish X taste good. Some people love their meat, I just don’t and so stopped eating chicken as it is industry standard now. Only way I will eat chicken again is if I kill my own. I agree they grow fast, but I do not like their taste.
Have you tasted Chinese soy chicken before? The Cornish x chicken's meat texture is ideal for this dish.

I am going to try this red bean curd marinade next.

I have heard Bresse chickens are one of the best tasting chickens. Problem I have is I can’t have any roosters so I’m hesitant to raise meat birds…. my luck I’d end up with all roosters
I have a 2 chicken residential limit where I live, but I have been talking to my neighbors and they are okay with me raising chickens. I keep no crow collars on my breeding roosters when they start to crow and I have decided to process all the other crowing roosters, regardless of how big they are.

I have to keep on top of things like laying down new pine shavings when it starts to smell and setting fly and rat traps when I notice a problem.

The French like to say the Breese chicken is the best tasting, but the truth of the matter is, its not. A Breese crossed with a Cornish X is the best tasting chicken in my opinion.

My pure Breese runt rooster dressed at 3 lbs and my Breese/Cornish x cross rooster dressed at 6 lbs.. Furthermore, the meat texture on the Breese/Cornish x cross was soft and delicate in comparison to the hard and rubbery Breese rooster.

Definitely not easy, but we have been able to successfully free range our Cornish. We feed a little less and butcher a little later but we still end up with large meaty birds. We process as 10-12 weeks with an average of 5lbs easy. The grass really helps improve the flavor as well, I think.
Just to share a couple pictures of the ranging Cornish. (Thankfully we didn't have too many issues with aerial predators but we did have a couple attempts. They are close enough to our house we can keep a watchful eye.
